STL’s partnership with NCR has continued to evolve and deepen, and we’re proud to now be named a key partner in the delivery of NCR’s new SmartRetail solution.

We first partnered with NCR, the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, in 2015, to offer UK multi-outlet, multi-user retailers greater stock management efficiency and transaction accuracy. Since then, we have signed a number of major contracts in the C-store sector and are in advanced-stage dialogue with several more.

Our role is help NCR develop its C-store pipeline, to distribute the NCR software, appoint and coordinate with an NCR hardware partner, and provide all the services and ongoing support required. We were recently awarded NCR’s EMEA Software Partner of the Year for our efforts. (See story here.)

NCR SmartRetail
NCR SmartRetail is an open, flexible and robust Point of Sale (PoS) and store management platform available on terminal and mobile devices.

Already proven, with 100,000 units operating successfully in 25,000 stores around the world, NCR SmartRetail’s eCommerce-integrated, loyalty-ready capabilities make it easier for retailers to sell to customers, and keep them returning.

This PoS is the feature-rich core of the SmartRetail management suite and allows centralised management of all inventory, customer profiles and configurations, including pricing, discounts, promotions, tender types, layaways, and returns, from one place. The intuitive UI can be operated using a touch screen or keyboard, on iOS, Android or PC, online or offline, and connects to all the latest hardware. Importantly, it is customisable so retailers can reflect their brand consistently across all their shopping channels.

At the customer-facing end of operations, it offers item recognition and text search, automated prompts and alerts, standalone operation support, 24-hour trading and automatic End-Of- Day (EOD) reports, password-, key- and card-based access control, plus coupon printing.

In the back office, SmartRetail provides data upload and download electronic journals with real-time transaction processing, real-time POS management and monitoring, employee maintenance, individual item and product hierarchy setup, powerful Cash Office, EOD and automated processes, advanced promotion application, a versatile reporting module and Shelf Edge label maintenance.

Crucially, the unit offers full lane independence for 100% uptime. It has also been future-proofed to optimise investment, with optional modules that enable mobile PoS and self-checkout.
