STL has appointed snowboarding enthusiast Andy McAllister as our new National Business Development Manager. Building on ten years in solution sales and account management, he is planning to carve out a fresh remit for this role, in which he will not only help us to grow our business but help our clients to drive their own organisations forwards, too.
Meet Andy ‘Newbiz’ McAllister
Andy McAllister is delighted to have joined STL, which he describes as having ‘cracking people and seriously quality solutions.’
Outlining his approach, he said, ‘Whilst hitting my sales targets is important, what really motivates me is working closely with clients, getting to know their businesses inside and out, then helping them to optimise their processes and use of IT in ways that will genuinely improve their efficiency, productivity and profitability.’
This was a skill he honed at Touch Systems, where he was Business Development Manager for the company’s Clarity Software division, the UK’s leading developer of MIS software for sign, print, digital and packaging companies. There, he was instrumental in the revamp of the company’s route-to-market strategy which proved very popular with customers. Before that, he held a range of sales and account management roles in the Commercial Print sector, including with Konica Minolta New Zealand and Ricoh UK Ltd.
At STL, Andy reports to Managing Director Ivan Durkin, who said, ‘As well as his engaging personality and strong sales record, Andy has impressed us with his process-driven and service-oriented approach to relationship building. We believe this will help us drive a more collaborative and effective strategy for sales, service and product development that all our clients will benefit from.’
Andy will work closely with Jerry Baker, STL’s Retail Director, as well as the company’s Technical Account Managers Tim Eccleston and Peter Barnaby to optimise client relations management. His conversations with clients about their emerging IT requirements will also inform STL’s product development roadmap, led by Technical Director Mark Vasey.
He has already started meeting STL’s customers and partners, and looks forward to speaking to each of you in person as soon as possible. He said, ‘It’s an exciting time here at STL with the launch of our new product MMS Evo which looks to build on our already impressive offering within the wholesale market. 2020 should be a big year for us and we are hoping our customers see our commitment to driving their growth.’
